Privacy & Security
How we handle your personal information and protect this website.
This page is maintained by Universal Training Institute to answer common privacy and security questions about uti.edu.au. It describes our current practices in plain English — it is not a certification or independent audit. For the full legal text, see our Privacy and Confidentiality Policy (PDF).
What we collect
We collect the information you provide through our enquiry, booklet, newsletter and contact forms (name, email, phone, and message). When you apply to study we also collect the personal and academic information required by our regulators (CRICOS / ASQA). We do not sell personal information.
How we use it
Your information is used to respond to enquiries, deliver training and student support, send course-related communications, and meet our compliance obligations as a registered training organisation. Marketing emails are only sent where you have opted in and you can unsubscribe at any time.
How we protect it
Our website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are stored in an access-controlled database with row-level security so staff only see records they are authorised to view. Administrative access requires authentication and is limited to authorised UTI personnel.
Subprocessors & integrations
We rely on reputable infrastructure and email-delivery providers to operate this website. These providers process data only on our instructions and under their own published security practices. We review the list of subprocessors periodically.
Retention, access & deletion
Student records are retained for the periods required by Australian VET regulators. Enquiry records are retained only as long as needed to assist you. You can request access to or deletion of your personal information by emailing the contact below.
Contact & complaints
Privacy questions, access requests, or complaints can be sent to admin@uti.edu.au. We aim to acknowledge requests within five business days. If you are unsatisfied with our response you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Reporting a security issue
If you believe you have found a security vulnerability on uti.edu.au, please email admin@uti.edu.au with details. Please give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and remediate before any public disclosure. We appreciate responsible reports.
